Hi all I have just moved to Windsor and would appreciate any tips on good restaurants or bars in the local area (Arthur Road in particular). I have just used the Viceroy takeaway service and it was excellent, a little expensive but well worth it!

Viceroy is lovely... I also recommend Bar 51 during the day for a nice lunch !
However always plenty to do in Windsor :):)

The majority of those on St Leonards Road are pretty good. I paticularly like the Moroccan 'All Fassia'. (I didn't rate the Italian opposite Michael Chells though -service and food weren't good when I went.)

For something a bit more casual, lively and the chance to have a good drink, try HaHa! at Windsor Royal Station. I also like Bar51 in the summer, as you can sit out in the decked area at the back and get sun for most of the day, and some good food and wine !

Without a doubt my personal favourite restaurant is Bel and the Dragon. The food is excellent and the service normally very good. It is on Thames Street near Windsor bridge, opposite Sir Christopher Wren Hotel.

I also recommend Elachi Indian restaurant on St Leonards Road.

As for bars there are some good local previews on www.beerintheevening.com
